The New Version of The Hare Krishna Index (Beta)

A lot has changed around here; and a lot more to come. Stay tunned... Welcome to a new and Beta Version of the Hare Krishna Index. Your advise and comments on the site are very much appreciated. We can only improve if you help us. We have created this new interface for the Hare Krishna Index based on your previous feedback. The download time was reduced as much as possible, all web sites separated in sections, etc... If you cannot get used to the new interface you may use the previous version for your convenience.

The graphic on the top is not yet click able. Please submit your new site only after March 15th 1998. You may contact me at [email protected]. Thank you. Your servant. Krishna Kirtan das (March 1st 1998 4:59am EST)

Overview

In the summer of 1995, ISKCON members pledged to expand the Hare Krishna movement's presence on the World Wide Web in order to better present Krishna Consciousness to the Internet community. This was planned to coincide with the grand celebration of Srila Prabhupada Centennial (1896-1996). The devotees pledged to make 108 Web pages by the end of 1996 -- they met their goal, but about a month late (January 27, 1997). The main goal now is to improve the quality of the current WWW page selection and to reach 1008 pages by the Sesquicentennial (1896-2046). So, please consider starting up a Krishna Conscious Web page if you haven't already.

Since the popularity of this web site has increased we decided to give it a little design touch and make it a more comprehensive links to all web sites by dividing them in groups. With the auspicious appearence of new web sites it has been very difficult to keep them all in one single page. Just to remind you that the old Hare Krishna Index is the same as this new one. I hope you like it. For comments and to submit your Hare Krishna web site e-mail me at [email protected].
